Artwork description

A three-masted whaling ship rests almost motionless on a glassy Pacific sea as dawn breaks in soft bands of peach, rose and lavender. Its sails hang loosely filled with the first light, and the hull is mirrored perfectly in the still water below. In the foreground, a small rowboat glides toward the pale silhouette of a whale breaking the surface, its wake the only ripple across an otherwise silent ocean.
