Guests spend a meal facing the same wall, so a painting in a restaurant is seen from the table. Both restaurants below ordered three paintings.

Patina Table, a restaurant in Covent Garden, London, wanted a vintage look and hung a girl reading with her dog and two Edward Hopper subjects. Sol y Limón, a bar and restaurant in Spain, went the other way: a lime margarita still life, a bouquet with grapes and fruit, and an abstract in orange, red, pink and blue. Patina Table wrote that diners "often pause to look at them, and many even ask where they can buy similar ones".

Choosing subjects and how many

A hand-painted oil takes 2 to 4 weeks. If your date is close, a Fine Art Print of a catalog image is made in 2 to 4 business days; it is a print, not a hand-painted work.

4. You see photographs first. You see the finished paintings in photographs before they leave the studio.
