Two massive T-shaped stone pillars rise from a circular enclosure of dry-fit stone walls, their surfaces carved with the faint relief of a snake and a long-necked bird. The surrounding hills are bare and golden, catching the last low light of a setting sun that turns the sky amber and rose behind the ruins. Excavation trenches and half-buried walls suggest a much larger site continuing beneath the earth, giving the composition a real sense of age and mystery.
