Artwork description

This Chinese market scene is set in a narrow street of old, many-windowed buildings. Vendors and shoppers crowd around stalls heaped with oranges, greens and baskets, a bicycle with a cart passes through the middle, and a green umbrella and cream cloth awnings stretch over the goods. Laundry hangs on lines overhead, and red and gold shop signs with Chinese characters mark the buildings on the right.

The painting is made to order: once the order comes in, a painter in the workshop hand-paints the scene in oil on canvas, which takes 2 to 4 weeks. Ten sizes are offered, 41 x 30 cm at the smallest and 206 x 150 cm at the largest. A Fine Art Print is there if you want the image sooner.
