Artwork description
This rustic French bread still life is painted in the Van Gogh style, in thick paint where every stroke shows. A long glossy loaf lies at the back of a white plate, slashed across the top, and in front of it sit cut and torn pieces of bread, the crumb cream-white and full of holes, the crust deep amber. Under the plate, a teal cloth ripples in short curved strokes of blue and green. The wall behind swirls in cream, butter yellow and pale lilac.
