Artwork description
Irises painted in the style of Van Gogh fill the middle of this upright canvas: a thick clump of green blades, blue petals with yellow throats, and a few closed buds on the tallest stems. A dirt path comes in from the lower left and bends away past a grassy field, blue hills and a few rounded trees. Above them the sky turns in heavy spirals of blue and cream around a pale yellow sun, and the strokes are short and thick enough to show every ridge.
The workshop starts this one when your order comes in: a painter works it in oil on canvas over 2 to 4 weeks, so it is made to order and hand-painted from the first stroke. If you would rather not wait, the same image is also a Fine Art Print. Sizes begin at 30 x 35 cm and reach 150 x 176 cm, ten in all.
The yellow of the sun comes back in the path and in the throat of each iris, which moves your eye from the sky down to the flowers.
