くすんだ黄土色とほこりをかぶったような灰色のトーンで描かれた静かな街角。木製の電柱は、ベトナムの旧市街で見慣れた、からまり合った電線の下に消えています。その下には、風化した黄色いファサードに深い赤のドアと鎧戸付きの窓があり、漆喰は長年の太陽と雨で滑らかに摩耗しています。自転車が壁に寄り添い、しま模様の標識柱のそばに置かれ、色あせた日よけが額の外の日常生活をほのめかしています。筆致はゆるく質感があり、細部よりも雰囲気を重視しているため、電線は柔らかな黄土色の漆喰の上に暗く表現力豊かな走り書きのように読み取れます。光は低く温かく差し込み、その角に喧騒ではなく、ひそやかで郷愁を誘う静けさを与えています。この絵は、絵葉書のような眺めではなく、街の静かで磨かれていない片隅に引かれる人に最適です。読書コーナーの上、廊下、旅行写真の隣などに置くとよいでしょう。キャンバスに手描きの油彩で、お選びのサイズでオーダーメイドいたします。
