フィリピンの家の軒先に、薄いキピンが幾重にも重なり、ピンクやライムグリーン、マリーゴールド、オレンジに染められ、オーバーサイズの葉のガーランドのように連なる。その横には編みかごや乾燥トウモロコシ、稲穂が吊るされ、晴れ渡る青い空の下、豊かな収穫の色彩が溢れんばかりに広がる。下では、伝統衣装をまとった2人の姿が戸口で立ち止まり、頭上に広がるパターンの奔流に対して小さく描かれる。祭りの群衆が視界の外にいることをほのめかす。筆致はキピンをゆるやかに輝かせ、カールした縁に日光を集め、その下の建築物は対照的に暖かく影なっている。模様と彩りで溢れる、祭りと熟練の技が詰まった一枚です。手描きの油彩画はキャンバスに描かれ、ご希望のサイズでオーダーメイド。フィリピンのパヒヤス祭のエネルギーを、廊下やダイニングルーム、色彩と物語を添えたい壁面に。
