この絵は、サイゴンの通りを質感と影だけに還元し、風化した壁を、それ自体が古い漆喰のように見える重ねられた灰色、白、そしてチャコールの滴りで描いています。ただひとつ、アーチ型の窓がバーントオレンジに輝き、冷たい抽象化された表面に対する唯一の暖かなアクセントとなっています。その下には、シクロの自転車が停められ、その車輪とフレームは、細部ではなく緩やかで表現力豊かなストロークで示唆されています。鎧窓や古い看板のぼんやりとした輪郭が壁の向こうに現れては消え、まるで建物の歴史が半分しか思い出せないかのようです。効果は、率直な街の眺めというよりは抽象芸術に近く、人物や群衆ではなく、質感、滴り、抑制された色から構築されています。ゆっくりと眺めるほどに報われ、長く見ているとさらに多くが明らかになります。この作品は、現代的なインテリア、書斎、または物語よりも雰囲気と質感が重要視されるギャラリーの壁に適しています。キャンバスに手描きの油彩で、必要なサイズでオーダーメイドいたします。
