古いベトナムの通りの静かな一角は、風化した漆喰と錆びたレンガの色調で広がります。傷んだ壁には数十年の痕跡が刻まれ、ひび割れたスタッコ、色あせたポスター、半分開いたティールの雨戸が一対見えます。その下では、花を積んだ自転車が石に寄りかかり、籠からは赤と黄色の花の束が溢れています。壁の素朴な黄土色と灰色の中で唯一の明るいアクセントです。筆致は緩く、質感があり、場所によってはほとんど抽象的に、生の色のパッチが、何年もの太陽と雨の下で崩れる漆喰のようににじみ出ています。この風景には静けさがあり、真昼の裏通りに見られるような、行商人が通り過ぎ、夜の群衆が戻る前の、ある種の静止があります。キャンバスに油彩で描かれ、お好みのサイズでオーダーメイドされるこの作品は、玄関、読書コーナー、またはゆったりとした、日差しに焼けたノスタルジアを必要とするあらゆる壁に、暖かさと素朴な趣をもたらします。
