Ein Pavillon in einem Sichuan-Garten steht neben stillem Wasser, seine Form spiegelt sich auf der Oberfläche. Der Pinselstrich ist weich und bedächtig, in Öl aufgebaut, um die ruhige Symmetrie zwischen dem Pavillon und seinem Spiegelbild einzufangen. Wenig stört die Szene, und diese Stille ist das ganze Thema des Gemäldes. Es bietet einem Zuhause einen kleinen, kontemplativen Rückzugsort, einen Ort, an dem das Auge ruhen und langsamer werden kann.
