تستريح زهور اللوتس المتفتّحة في مشهد هادئ وساكن، مع بتلاتها المفتوحة المرسومة بلمسة رقيقة يقتضيها هذا المشهد. تتيح الألوان الزيتية على القماش للبتلات التقاط مقاطع ناعمة من الضوء مقابل محيط أكثر هدوءاً وخفوتاً، بضربات فرشاة تتسم بالسيولة قرب الماء والدقة عند الزهرة نفسها. وتُقرأ النتيجة على أنها هادئة وتأمّلية، قريبة من الجمال الطبيعي الذي تجسّده الزهور. في المنزل، تقدّم زاوية من الإلهام الهادئ والسكينة.
