ترتفع ثلاث تلال صخرية حمراء شاهقة من أرضية الصحراء المسطحة، حيث تلتقط منحدراتها الشاهقة ضوءاً ذهبياً متأخراً بينما تمتد ظلال طويلة عبر الأرض بالأسفل. طريق مستقيم فارغ يمتد نحوها من المقدمة، ليجذب العين إلى عمق التكوين ويؤكد على الحجم الهائل والمفتوح للمناظر الطبيعية. في الأعلى، سماء درامية مليئة بالغيوم ذات الحواف الذهبية تملأ أكثر من نصف اللوحة، بألوانها الدافئة التي تعكس البرتقالي المحروق والصدأ لتكوينات الصخور بالأسفل. المشهد هادئ وساكن، مع مسافر بعيد واحد فقط على الطريق، تاركاً الحجم الهائل للصحراء يتحدث عن نفسه. هذه اللوحة الزيتية المرسومة يدوياً على القماش، والمصنوعة حسب الطلب بالحجم الذي تختاره، تجلب الدراما الشهيرة لجنوب غرب أمريكا إلى غرفة معيشة أو مكتب أو ممر يحتاج إلى منظر جريء وواسع.
