تلتقط هذه اللوحة ميناءً هادئًا يقع تحت جبال شاهقة، حيث يلتقي الماء الساكن مع القمم المرتفعة في توازن هادئ. منفذة بالزيت على القماش، يبني التكوين عمقه من خلال ضربات فرشاة متعددة الطبقات، تاركًا أشكال الجبال لتلين في السماء بينما يحتفظ الميناء بضوء أكثر نعومة ووضوحًا. التأثير العام هو مقياس هادئ، منظر يبدو مهيبًا ومريحًا في آن واحد. معلقة في غرفة الجلوس، تضفي حضورًا ثابتًا وتأمليًا على الحائط.
