يجثم صقر أحمر الذيل على غصن مغطى بالأشنة، ورأسه ملتفت بحدة إلى جانب واحد كما لو أن شيئًا ما لفت انتباهه للتو. بنيات دافئة وألوان كريمية تنمط ريش صدره، وتتعمق في الذيل الأحمر الصدئ الذي يعطي الطائر اسمه، بينما يتسلل ضوء النهار الناعم عبر غابة خريفية من خضرة صامتة وذهبيات خلفه. تحافظ ضربات الفرشاة على الطائر حادًا ومفصلاً على خلفية ضبابية أكثر مرونة، مما يمنح اللوحة كثافة هادئة ويقظة. يتم تقديم كل ريشة ومخلب بعناية، لالتقاط السلطة الهادئة لطائر جارح في راحة. مرسوم يدويًا بالزيت على قماش ومصنوع حسب الطلب بالحجم الذي تختاره، هذه القطعة مناسبة لدراسة أو مكتب أو ممر حيث تجلب نظرته المركزة وألوانه الطبيعية إحساسًا بالقوة الهادئة إلى الغرفة.
