سفينة شراعية قديمة تندفع عبر أمواج ثقيلة بينما يخترق شعاع من ضوء الشمس الذهبي سحب العاصفة المتقلبة، ملتقطًا الأشرعة والتزوير في ضوء دافئ. حولها، يتدحرج البحر بدرجات رمادية خضراء داكنة متناثرة برغوة بيضاء، بينما تظل السماء بالأعلى ثقيلة ومظلمة باستثناء تلك الفتحة الوحيدة من السطوع. التباين بين السفينة المتوهجة والعاصفة الكئيبة يعطي المشهد إحساسًا بالأمل يدفع عبر الشدائد. هذه اللوحة مرسومة يدويًا بالزيت على قماش وتُصنع حسب الطلب بالحجم الذي تطلبه، مع الحفاظ على كل تفاصيل الضوء والماء حادة بغض النظر عن المقياس. مؤطرة بإطار خشبي عميق، تبدو كقطعة كلاسيكية بأسلوب المعارض الفنية مناسبة لغرفة معيشة أو مكتبة أو مدخل حيث يمكن لمنظر بحري دافئ وقصصي أن يثبت المساحة ويجذب العين.
