تصوّر هذه اللوحة بوابة بلدة قديمة في فيتنام، بنية شهدت مرور أجيال تحتها. بُنيت اللوحة بالزيت على القماش بلمسات متعددة الطبقات وملمسية تمنح الحجر والخشب القديم ثقلاً حقيقياً وإحساساً بالتاريخ، بينما ينسكب الضوء بلطف على القوس. المزاج العام دافئ لا مهيب، مرحّب أكثر مما هو صارم. عند وضعها في المنزل، تمنح إحساساً مريحاً بالتاريخ والاستمرارية، كباب قديم تُرك مفتوحاً قليلاً.
