تجسد هذه اللوحة الزيتية سور الصين العظيم وهو يتسلق مشهداً جبلياً مهيباً، حيث تمتد أسواره الحجرية القديمة نحو الأفق. بنى الفنان المشهد عبر ضربات فرشاة متعددة الطبقات، تاركاً انتقالات الضوء الناعمة تقود العين من حجارة المقدمة إلى التلال البعيدة. مرسومة على القماش، تحمل إحساساً بالحجم والتاريخ لا يضاهيه إلا القليل من الموضوعات. عند تعليقها في غرفة المعيشة أو المكتب، تضفي عظمة هادئة وروح إعجاب على المكان.
