يسقط ضوء ناعم على زهور اللوتس المنعكسة على ماء ساكن بينما يحل الغسق على المشهد. عولج الزيت بطبقات لطيفة ومدمجة، تاركاً الانعكاسات تتلاشى برقة في السكون المحيط بدلاً من أن تظل صورة مرآة صلبة. تفضل ضربات الفرشاة الانتقالات الناعمة على الحواف الحادة، محافظة على هدوء التكوين وعدم عجلته. عند تعليقه في المنزل، يقدم وقفة صافية، جيب صغير من السكون داخل غرفة مزدحمة.
