تجتمع الشخصيات في حفل شاي بعد الظهر ساحر في هذه اللوحة، يتشاركون الحديث حول الطاولة. يعمل الفنان بضربات فرشاة معبّرة، مستخدماً ألواناً دافئة وضوءاً ناعماً لإحياء الشخصيات المجتمعة وأكواب الشاي على القماش. تتراكم الملمس عبر السطح، مما يمنح المشهد غنىً ناعماً ورسومياً. في غرفة المعيشة تخلق جواً دافئاً وجاذباً يشجع على الحوار، وتلائم مكتباً مرحّباً بالقدر ذاته.
