ينحني عالم مسنّ بتركيز على طاولة عمله، وبيده بركار، يرسم أشكالًا هندسية على ورقة رق. الأرفف والأرض حوله مزدحمة بأدوات الاختراع – لفائف ملفوفة، وجرار برونزية، وتروس خشبية، وعجلة حجرية كبيرة تسند إلى الجدار. يسقط ضوء دافئ منخفض على وجهه المتجعد وستره الشاحب، مبرزًا تركيز عينيه وقبضة أصابعه الثابتة. الألوان غنية بالمغرة والأمبر والكريمي الناعم، مما يمنح الورشة كلها توهجًا قديمًا مأهولًا. إنها صورة تركيز خالص، عقل مخترع يُلتقط أثناء تفكيره بين أدوات حرفته. مرسومة يدويًا بالزيت على قماش وتُصنع حسب الطلب بالحجم الذي تحتاجه، تضيف هذه القطعة دفئًا علميًا إلى دراسة أو مكتبة أو مكتب، وتكافئ نظرة أقرب إلى كل تفصيلة مرسومة بعناية على الأرفف المزدحمة.
