على خلفية حضرية، تحتضن أم طفلها بقرب، مع مزج الألوان الزيتية بلطف حول الشخصيتين لتمييزهما عن الخطوط الصارمة للمشهد الحضري. استخدمت درجات دافئة للثنائي، وباردة للشوارع والمباني خلفهما، مما يزيد من الإحساس بالحميمية في مركز اللوحة. تمنح ضربات الفرشاة اللطيفة والمتعددة الطبقات أشكالهما نعومة حنونة ومستديرة. تحمل اللوحة ثقلاً عاطفياً هادئاً يبقى في المنزل.
