الأحمر على البني، 1959 يمثل مارك روثكو في ذروة قوته الفنية، تم إنشاؤه كجزء من سلسلة الجداريات الشهيرة في سيغرام. تحتوي هذه التحفة على مستطيل أحمر متألق يطفو فوق حقل بني عميق، مما يخلق حوارًا بصريًا بين الدفء والجاذبية، التوسع والانقطاع. الحواف الناعمة والمبهمة بين كتل الألوان تثير شعورًا بالتنفس، كما لو أن اللوحة نفسها تمتلك وجودًا حيًا. إن الطبقات الدقيقة من الأصباغ الشفافة التي يستخدمها روثكو تخلق عمقًا استثنائيًا ولمعانًا يتغير مع تغير الضوء طوال اليوم. تحترم نسختنا المرسومة بالزيت يدويًا هذه التعقيد من خلال عمل فرشاة مهاري ومواد أصلية، حيث تلتقط السطح الملمس والتvariations الطفيفة في الألوان التي تعطي الأصل قوته التأملية وصداه العاطفي.
