Beschrijving van het kunstwerk

Zacht licht valt over lotusbloemen die weerspiegeld worden in stil water terwijl de schemering over de scène neerdaalt. Olieverf is in zachte, gemengde lagen aangebracht, waardoor de reflecties zachtjes oplossen in de omringende stilte in plaats van als een harde spiegelbeeld te blijven zitten. De penseelstreken verkiezen vloeiende overgangen boven scherpe randen, waardoor de hele compositie kalm en onhaast blijft. Opgehangen in huis biedt het een serene pauze, een klein zakje stilte in een drukke kamer.
