羽飾りのある兜と赤いチュニックを身につけた御者が、大きく体を倒しながら曲がり角へと差し掛かる。頭上に鞭を振りかざし、四頭の馬を懸命に駆る姿は、円形の競馬場を埋め尽くす。蹄の下から土煙が上がり、後ろからは二番手のチームが低い姿勢で追いかける。両側には石造りの観客席が何層にもそびえ、中央の背骨（スピナ）に沿って高い柱が並ぶ。陽の光は明るく埃っぽく、地面と馬には金色と暖かい茶色が支配的で、空は淡く雲がかすんでいる。そのエネルギーは即物的で肉感的であり、スタジアムの広い眺めよりもアクションに近く、まるでレースの埃の中にいるかのような感覚に陥る。手描き油絵でキャンバスに描かれ、ご希望のサイズで製作いたします。この作品は、オフィスや書斎、ギャラリーの壁に、生々しい動きと古代の壮観をもたらします。
